Reading Through the Nyte

If it has pages, I will try to read it. Admittedly, I will not always succeed, as some books honestly do not deserve to be printed, not to mention finished. After reading them, I like telling people about books-- whether to avoid them or seek them out... and so it goes...

Bitter Sweets - Roopa Farooki It starts when a young Indian man marries what he thinks is a sweet, well educated woman whom he can have as a friend, lover and partner, only to find he has married an underage, illiterate spoiled brat who only wanted his families money and caste in order to somehow become a Bollywood movie star. Lies begin this book and are the 5 THOUSAND POUND ANVIL that hammer at you from front to back, and from that generation, through their daughter and then the daughter's children.

Having a theme is a good thing in a book, but hammering your audience that cheating and lying will in the end destroy you, over and over and over made what could have been a good multi-generational story a bit tedious to read.
